a holistic psychologist
based in the Blue Mountains
approach
Hi, I'm Curtis McDonald, a psychologist and psychotherapist working in-person and remotely from the Blue Mountains, Dharug and Gundungurra Country.
Often the things that bring us to therapy are the very things we've spent years trying to outrun. Sometimes it’s a crisis. Sometimes just a quiet sense that something isn't working. Whatever brings you here, I want you to know that what you're experiencing makes sense, and that real change is possible.
My approach is integrative and holistic. I work with you as a whole person, your inner world, your body, your relationships, your sense of meaning and identity, targeting the core issues rather than treating a set of symptoms.
I draw on depth psychology, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy and existential approaches, weaving them together based on what you need. No single framework fits every person, and I'm not interested in applying manualised frameworks and formulas to something as unique as your life.
I also practice Transpersonal Psychology and can assist with integration of psychedelic and mystical experiences.
What I care about is genuine healing, helping you to understand the deep patterns that shape your experience, to develop real insight into who you are, and to move toward a life that feels more aligned, more like yours.
I work with people across all ages, from children and adolescents through to older adults. My practice is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and gender-affirming, inclusive of all neurotypes, backgrounds, and identities. Everyone is welcome.
I look forward to meeting you.
